Our SWITCH KIT will make switching your accounts fast and easy. Simply follow the simple steps below or stop by any branch location and let us help you. Feel free to call us at (314) 862-8300 if you have questions or have problems with the process. We’ll be glad to help. Click here to print out the entire packet for your use.

Step 1: Open a First National Bank checking account.

We have a wide variety of accounts to choose from. You only need $50 to open an account.

Step 2: Stop using your former checking account.

Make certain you keep enough funds in the old account to cover any outstanding checks, auto payments, and ATM or debit card transactions. Depending on the type of withdrawal, it may take several days for these items to clear. The sooner you stop using the old account the quicker you will be able to make the switch.

Step 3: Change automatic deposits and/or withdrawals.

Easy to complete forms are included to simplify the process. Simply click on the links below and then print the forms (as many as you need).

The Direct Deposit Authorization form should be sent to your employer and anyone else who is automatically depositing into your account. Your Social Securiy deposit can be changed by calling 1 (800) 772-1213.

The Automatic Payment Transfer Authorization should be completed and sent

to anyone who receives an auto payment from your former account.

We have included an Automatic Transaction Inventory form to make it easy for you to make sure you have everyone included.

Step 4: Close your former account.

You should allow approximately 30 days for everything to get switched over. Check with your employer to make sure your paycheck has been switched as soon as possible. Once the automatic payments start withdrawing from your First National Bank account, you will want to make sure you have funds in the account to cover the payment requests.

The Account Closing Request form can help make this part easy.

We have also included Sample Letters that you may want to use. Feel free to copy the language as shown or change it as you feel appropriate.
