Every Family Needs a Will

Every Family Needs a Will

If you are married and don’t have kids, you may not need a will – unless you want certain assets to go to someone other than your spouse. If you have kids, you should have a will. Even if you don’t focus on distributing assets, you should specify who will take care of your children in the event both you and your spouse pass away. If you die intestate (without a will), the state must step in and decide who will take care of your children.

Put your decisions in writing and you make the choice. Fail to do so and making decisions about your child’s future may be left to someone else.
